Brand/Media Planning Senior Lead - SVP, New York, New York

Housed within Citi's Global Marketing Team (GMT), and reporting to the Media Director, the GMT group is responsible for protecting and enhancing Citi's reputation. A global role, the SVP will help transform the way Citi approaches media to become a more modern, agile and innovative center of excellence. The transformation should ensure that Citi is at the forefront of rapidly changing media behaviors/platforms/technology, by applying industry best practices that ultimately yield maximum return on media investments. Successful candidate will have developed communication and diplomacy skills - to help guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. This role will require coordination with US Consumer Media team.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Lead 360 Enterprise media campaigns from inception to execution (primary owner), including day-to-day Media Agency management
  • Develop Media Briefs, coordinating with internal stakeholders (Advertising, Research & Insights) for Agency briefing
  • Hold Agency accountable for digital executional excellence by managing bi-weekly Analytics calls, and calibrating media accordingly
  • Partner with Director to set up digital 1st media practice
  • Partner with the Research & Insights team to develop the data road map to maximize targeting efficiency
  • Partner with the Research & Insights team on campaign measurement and optimizations, including cross-media tracking, marketing mix modeling and MTA attribution modeling
  • Partner with Creative/Content teams to jointly formulate media and content strategy
  • Primary owner of Custom Content programs (evaluation, design, negotiations) with Agency, that provide new and innovative ways for Citi to deliver its message
  • Work across GMT, GPA, LOB teams to ensure a highly integrated and aligned approach to media strategy and communications planning
  • Partner with GMT and GPA teams to develop social media strategy and execution plans leveraging best practices by platform
  • Develop in-depth understanding of key target segments and develop a strategy and operational framework for targeting the right message to the right audience segment
  • Act as thought leader by keeping abreast of the latest trends and industry best practices regarding the most effective ways of reaching our target audiences and delivering our message
  • Owner of all financials/budget management (invoicing, reconciliation, etc.)
  • Coordinate with US Head of Media to generate synergies and frictionless go-to-market approaches (including but not limited to - Citi investment strategy, JBPs, etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field required; Masters preferred
  • Minimum 9 years' experience within a Media Agency and/or advertiser environment
  • Expertise in Digital, Social Media, and data driven marketing
  • Prior experience developing and stewarding Custom Content partnerships
  • Prior Comms Planning experience a plus
  • Proven track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Effective team player with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, on budget, and on time
  • Ability to work in highly matrixed organization
  • Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact and diplomacy.
